Service Description: This data contains the boundaries of the Sphere of Influence in the SCAG Region for the year 2019, updated as of January 7, 2022. The Sphere of Influence represents the geographic extent to which a city can expand by annexation. The original sphere of influence boundary data was obtained from county local agency formation commissions (LAFCOs)to reflect the most current updates and then was reviewed and cleaned up by SCAG staff. This data will be further reviewed and updated as SCAG continues to receive feedbacks from LAFCOs, subregions and local jurisdictions.

Comments: This dataset includes the updated as of August 29, 2014 city boundaries for all SCAG Counties. The dataset is comprised of data collected from each of the 6 counties and reviewed by by local jurisdictions in the region. The data represents the city boundary for each of the 191 cities in the region for the year 2012. Data was obtained from county representatives between August 2012 and January 2013 and then reviewed by local jurisdiction staffs during the SCAG's Local Input Process, between March 2013 and August 2014, to reflect the most current updates and annexations to the city boundaries. The original data sources were the local LAFCO offices (Ver 1.4). This specific dataset is (Ver. 1.5)
