snippet: A reflection of the extent of Connect SoCal 2024 Priority Development Areas (PDAs) and Green Region Resource Areas (GRRAs) at the Transportation Analysis Zone (TAZ, City/Tier2) level. As part of the development of the plan's preliminary Forecasted Regional Development Pattern, every parcel in the region was identified as being in or out of PDAs and GRRAs. This allowed for remaining housing unit capacity to be assessed along a Growth Prioritization Scale, ranging from 1 to 20, based on how many PDAs or GRRAs it lies in. Areas with overlapping PDAs and no GRRAs are identified as the best locations to encourage growth (lower scores), whereas areas with no PDAs and multiple GRRAs are areas growth should avoid (higher scores). This scale provides a rough guide to help compare areas, across a very diverse region, based on their consistency with regional strategies, SB 375 environmental requirements, and achieving state GHG targets. Growth Prioritization Scale details can be found in Section 5 of Connect SoCal 2024's Land Use and Communities Technical Report. This dataset is not suitable for assessing whether a particular parcel or site is within a particular PDA, GRRA, or Growth Prioritization Scale step since these topics are based on geographical boundaries with more precision than City/Tier2 TAZs. As such, please refer to the most up-to-date individual PDA or GRRA data layers to assess whether a particular parcel or site is within them.
