Name: Joint Public/Private Affordable Housing Developments (Planned)

Display Field: PROJ_NAM

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: GIS multipoint shapefile. This shapefile contains spatial and other information regarding future joint public/private affordable housing development projects in the SCAG region. This file includes future projects as well. These affordable housing projects are unique in that they are joint efforts involving public agencies and private-sector development partners. Public agencies will give access to land that will be developed by a private company to create apartment/condominium complexes with affordable housing units. These sites, in particular, have public transit access. The crowd sourcing process will include use of local input from a web mapping application that will display datasets representing the measures outlined in Metro's Transit Supportive Toolkit. The toolkit is a planning resource that specifies different processes local jurisdictions can implement to encourage transit ridership, active transportation modes, and a subsequent reduction in Vehicles Miles Traveled (VMT). By identifying the areas where these processes are taking place or underway, SCAG will be able to quantify the associated reduction in VMT in the "Local Input" base case as well as any potential scenarios.
